We excel in delivering and facilitating impactful interventions, fighting poverty and injustice, by empowering vulnerable people and communities.

Since being founded in 1901, Mission Alliance has worked in different fields and countries, with continued focus on empowering people to live a life of dignity.

Together with people living in poverty, we create new opportunities. Today, our focus is on increasing family incomes, protecting children and youth and strengthening local communities.

Brazil

Activities, vocational training, and health services in collaboration with local churches and organizations. Together, we provide children and young people with alternatives to substance abuse and crime.

Bolivia

Creating jobs through microfinance and provide children with a safe upbringing through sports.

Liberia

Civil wars have deprived more than half of the adult population of the opportunity to learn to read and write. Together, we give them a second chance.

Ethiopia

Our subsidiary, Alliance Microfinance (AMAS), is building a new microfinance insitution, helping farmers increase their crops and sell their produce on the local market.

The country is a global hot-spot for Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children (OSEAC). We work on preventive measures that protect them.

Uganda

We work to create jobs and provide youth with the opportunity to build a better future.

Vietnam

We empower women to build a better future through access to loans and business skills. Giving the most vulnerable opportunity to adapt to climate change and create sustainable incomes.

Cambodia

We work on PwD inclusion, leadership training for youth and skills development to create jobs and increased income for families. We have also launched a chatbot to help difficult to reach entrepreneurs develop their businesses.

We are Norway's largest operator of microfinance institutions - with banks in Ecuador, Bolivia, Liberia and Vietnam.

How We Work

Mission Alliance collaborates with a broad network of groups and individuals combating poverty in small and large communities across South America, Africa, and Asia.

We collaborate with a range of other partners, like governments, unions, technical vocational education providers, universities, partner organizations, donors, the private sector, academia, individuals, and grantees to drive lasting change.

Local partnerships are fundamental to driving lasting positive change.

We work at the grassroots level through organizations and churches that are part of or closely connected to the communities they serve. Together, we design projects that address key challenges within these communities, enabling people to build a better future for themselves. Mission Alliance provides advice, experience, and funding to make this work possible. We also equip local actors to eventually sustain the work independently.

How We Are Funded

About half of our work is supported by private individuals, companies, churches, schools, and organizations. The other half is financed through intstitutional funding, primarily from the Norwegian Development Agency, Norad.
